MLB the Show: An Atlanta Brave NLDS Fantasy P1

Game one of the NLDS between my Atlanta Braves and the LA Dodgers did not disappoint, well for me that is. On the mound for me was the NL CY Young of 2017 Alex Wood and for the Dodgers Felix Hernandez.

I thought my Braves were going to loose in the first inning when the Dodgers took an early 2-0 lead. However things started happening for me in the top of the third when I would gain the lead 4-2.

The Dodgers would stay in the game when they scored another run in the bottom of the sixth making it a 4-3 game. I would make it even more difficult for LA when I scored two more runs in the top of the seventh making it 6-3 in favor of my Atlanta Braves. That lead would have help up making me the victor of game one of the NLDS.

The two starters did not last to long either. Let’s start with “King” Felix. His line was 5.1 inning of work allowing eight hits and giving up four earned runs.

While for the winning pitcher Alex Wood, he would go six solid innings giving up five hits, surrendering three earned runs while striking out for. It wasn’t the best outing but it got the job done. My bullpen shut the door down when called upon. Through three pitchers of Siegrist, Fields, and Diaz, I stuck seven batters out through the last three innings.

The bats were alive and well for both teams. George Springer was the lone bat for the Dodgers where he went 2-4 with one homerun and three RBIs. As for me Aaron Judge was my offensive hero. Judge went 2-5 with one homerun and two RBIs.

It was a great win and even better to take it on the road while in the NLDS. The pitchers for Game 2 are Dodgers’ Masahiro against Braves’ Jameson Taillon. Let’s see if I can take Game 2 and bring it back to Atlanta to win the division series against those LA Dodgers.

MLB the Show: An Atlanta Brave Wild Card Fantasy

Since the MLB is counting down to October and teams are trying to widen gaps in each division, let’s talk about my fantasy team on MLB the Show. The Atlanta Braves are my fantasy team that just clinched the postseason with a Wild Card game bid against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The two arms on the mound were Jeff Smardzija, Phillies, and my southpaw, DavidPrice. I thought it was going to be a rough outing for Price when he gave up a homer to Kevin Pillar in the first.

I was set at ease when I got on the board with a three-run blast from big man Aaron Judge. Judge managed to hit the Chop House in right field of Sun Trust Stadium.

I managed to get two more runs in the game. One was in the third and the other was in the fourth inning. The Phillies never scored another run and I would manage to win 5-1.

Jeff Samardzija pitched five innings giving up 10 hits with five earned runs and one strikeout. On my side David Price pitched a gem of a game although he gave up one run. Price’s line was eight innings giving up one run and three hits while striking out nine batters.

Price wasn’t the only player on my team that played well. Aaron Judge was my top hitter going 2-4 with one homer and three RBIs in the winning effort. However, Price would get the MVP honors for the Wild Card Game.

My Braves move on to the NLDS to play the LA Dodgers. I am thinking that I will start my other southpaw, Alex Wood. Wood carried my pitching staff by winning the CY Young. We shall see how this will work out and hopefully it will be a glorious win.

MLB the Show: An Atlanta Brave Fantasy

Let’s talk fantasy baseball, not that thing you do every year with your coworker friends, but MLB the Show 17’s. MLB the Show has a mode called franchise where you can be the GM and decided whether you want to do a fantasy draft of the entire MLB. I love this mode and have various franchises with extraordinary players. My favorite franchise is with the Atlanta Braves. My lineup looks like this:

1.     3B        S          Jose Ramirez               88
2.     CF        R          Greg Gentry                79
3.     RF        R          Aaron Judge                92
4.     LF        R          Matt Kemp                  89
5.     1B        L          Matt Adams                78
6.     SS        R          Andrelton Simmons    86
7.     2B        R          DJ LeMahieu               85
8.     C          R          Kurt Suzuki                 80
9.                                  Pitcher

Bench
1.     CF        L          David Dahl                 81
2.     2B       L          Kolten Wong              84
3.     CF        L          Mallex Smith              77
4.     C          R          Chris Stewart             67
This lineup has something special in it and that is Aaron Judge. Judge happened to win Rookie of the Year. He batted .256 with 40 homeruns and 101 RBIs. Those numbers will stick out among veterans not alone rookies.

The lineup is not the only thing great about this team. The pitching happens to be key backbone to this team. So let’s take a look at my star pitching staff shall we.

1.     L          David Price                 91
2.     L          Alex Wood                   89
3.     R          Jameson Taillon         88
4.     R          Mike Foltynewicz      78
5.     R          Ervin Santana             82

Bullpen
 1.     LRP     R          Matt Wisler                78
2.     MRP    L          Kevin Siegrist             82
3.     MRP    L          Mike Dunn                   76
4.     MRP    R          Carlos Estevez            80
5.     MRP    L          Enny Romero              76
6.     SU       R          Josh Fields                    87
7.     SU       R          Cam Bedrosain           84
8.     CP       R          Edwin Diaz                  85

The best thing is that I have a hidden gem in this pitching staff and his name is Alex Wood. Wood is my number two pitcher behind David Price. However Price didn’t win the CY Young award for 2017, Wood did. Wood pitched great with a 16-6 record along with a 2.69 ERA and striking out 219 batters.

My Atlanta Braves had a fantastic season and are going strong in the playoffs after clinching the Wild Card. The Braves finished the regular season 88-74 behind the 92-70 New York Mets. I will keep you all posted on the Braves and their run to be World Series Champs.

Injustice 2: The Queens of Gotham

The cowl of Batman cannot hide his Bruce Wayne charm while fighting crime and there are two villainous ladies that have Batman around their fingers. Those two lovely gals are no other than Catwoman and Poison Ivy. This goes to say that we will be discussing their involvement and customization in Injustice 2.

Let’s start off talking about our feline friend Catwoman, Selina Kyle. Kyle was orphaned after her mother committed suicide, and her father died a drunk. She was in and out of group homes and juvenile detention centers throughout her childhood. Kyle would later learn the arts of contortionism, gymnastics, magic, and trickery. So she then took to the streets of Gotham.

Catwoman has been on both sides of the law one as a cat burglar and the other as a crime fighter. So why don’t we take a look at how Ms. Kyle looks in Injustice 2.

Catwoman’s Gear
·      Head – Fortified Gotham City Sirens Cowl
·      Torso – Sturdy Purloined Pussycat Suit
·      Arms – Supreme Year One Anti-Hero Sleeves
·      Legs – Hecate’s Pouncers
·      Whip – Supreme Fierce Ladies’ Night Whip
·      Ability – Low Whip
·      Color Scheme – Thief of Thieves (Alternative)

I have enjoyed getting to build up Catwoman how I see fit and mostly fighting with her. Being Catwoman has many benefits. One is the she is super agile and the other is being elegantly fierce. Speaking of fierce I hear that Poison Ivy is potently fierce. No man or some woman can stand a chance against the seductive Poison Ivy.

Poison Ivy, originally Pamela Isley, was a college student in Seattle that fell head over heels for one of her professors, Marc Legrand. Ms. Isley stole some rare herbs from the local museum for Legrand. Legrand then betrayed her by poisoning Isley where she would survive but that’s when she received the powers of Mother Nature. This is when she took up crime in the streets of Gotham.

Poison Ivy’s demeanor changed into where she’s not going to get pushed around by men every ago. Ivy would become this seductive irresistible woman to ladies and gentlemen alike so let’s take a look out her.

Poison Ivy’s Gear
·      Head – The Barberry Crown
·      Torso – The Crimson Flower
·      Arms – Raphia Regalis Wrapped Brands
·      Legs – Solid Ivy’s Knee High Petal Boots
·      Plants – Mighty Pamela’s Budding Man Eaters
·      Ability – N/A
·      Color Scheme – Seductress

I don’t use Poison Ivy to much because she is difficult to control while fighting. I mean she is very slow and I don’t have enough patience to use her in Injustice 2.

Catwoman and Poison Ivy aren’t the only villains that the Cape Crusader has fallen over. Talia ah Ghul is the other villainous woman that comes to mind when dating the other side of the law. Bruce and Talia would have a child together, Damian Wayne. Talia would be a great asset in the Injustice series as she was in the League of Assassins.

Injustice 2: The Flash

What’s faster than a speeding bullet or a bolt a lightening? It’s not Superman but it’s the Scarlet Speedster, the Flash. Oh yes the Flash, Barry Allen, the fastest man alive is the topic for today for Injustice 2.

Barry Allen is a forensic scientist for the Central City Police Department. Allen has had a rough go in life. He lost his mom at the age nine and his dad was arrested for murdering his wife. That is the tricky part, his dad didn’t kill her but another speedster.

One day Allen was struck by lightening while working at the CCPD. The lightening then gave Allen superhuman speed and then became the Flash himself. So let’s take a gander at my custom job on the Flash.

The Flash’s Gear
·      Head – Central City Guardian Gear
·      Torso – Fortified Max Mercury’s Body Armor
·      Arms – Sturdy Wally’s Fast Gloves
·      Legs – Time Barrier Breach Treads
·      Wings – Lethal Savitar’s Light-Speed Wings
·      Abilities – Sonic Perry and Air Spin Out
·      Color Scheme – Scarlet Speedster

Barry Allen isn’t the only Flash. Jay Garrick is the other Flash from a multiverse. Other Speedsters are Wally West and Bart Allen. I would love for Jay Garrick and Wally West to be in the game and not just costumes. Speaking of other characters lets check out the villains in Injustice from the Flash.

Gorilla Grodd is a telepathic ape that wants to kill the Flash and take over Central City. Grodd gives me this Planet of the Apes vibe and I really don’t care for it. He is an interesting villain though. Let’s look at him and his glorious level one self.

Gorilla Grodd’s Gear
·      Head – Junglebound Ruination Helm
·      Torso – Jungle King’s Impenetrable Armor
·      Arms – Pauldrons of Blood and Gore
·      Legs – Lethal Grodd’s Savage Greaves
·      Focus – Multiversal Telepathic Sight Lens
·      Ability – N/A
·      Color Scheme – Mind Bender (Alternative)

Grodd isn’t the only villain on Injustice 2 from the Flash series. There is also Captain Cold. Captain Cold is a thief with a literal freeze ice gun. Sounds like someone from Batman, but oh well, Captain Cold is pretty interesting regardless. Let’s take a look at my customization of Captain Cold.

Captain Cold’s Gear
·      Head – Destructive Thief’s Artic Goggles
·      Torso – Destructive Winter Parka
·      Arms – Lethal Protected Microfiber Gloves
·      Legs – Harden Snart’s Perfected Crime Boots
·      Gun – Solid Crime Blaster
·      Ability – N/A
·      Color Scheme – Stone Cold Killer (Alternative)

The Flash has many other great characters that I would love to see in Injustice 2. The others I would love to see are: Killer Frost, Killer Croc, and Captain Boomerang. Especially Captain Boomerang, he would be a great asset in Injustice 2. There are great characters on Injustice already so go grab a copy and see how great these characters are in person.
